What Types of Electric Fireplaces are Available?
There are 4 different types of electric fireplaces. The classic wall mounted electric fireplace is mounted on the wall - just like a TV. Then we have the built-in fireplace, where the back box is built into the wall. We also have freestanding fireplaces, which are easy to move around in the home. And then we have the classic mantels in a category for themselves. These are large traditional fireplaces which are very popular, and commonly seen, in British homes.
Wall Mounted Electric Fireplace
This type of fireplace is often mounted in small apartments, where the space is minimal. They require minimal installation. A chimney, exhaust, and ventilation are not necessary. They are perfect for apartments because of the easy mounting. This means if you have to move to a new house, a wall mounted fireplace will be easy to move.
They can be mounted on the wall - exactly like a photo or a TV is mounted. The brackets for mounting and the relevant screws are included, so the fireplace can be mounted and installed in a few minutes. You only need a screwdriver and some hands, then you are ready!
The installation does require authorised people and can be done by yourself - unless the fireplace is too heavy. You will only have to follow the simple instructions in the manual, mount the fireplace on the brackets, and connect it to a power outlet.
Classic Electric Fireplace
They are big, they are classic, and they are beautiful. The big traditional mantels are very popular in British homes. It is a big fireplace, with a LED insert creating a nice flame effect. The fireplace surrounding is typically available in different colours and materials.
More models are also available with different types of electric inserts - for example, a standard solution for a budget price, and a professional 3D kamin. The fireplace is not only a fireplace but will constitute furniture in the home.
Freestanding Electric Fireplace
The freestanding electric fireplaces are often fully assembled when they get delivered. It is a great opportunity for apartments since they are easily removable - so in the case you are moving, the fireplace can easily be moved.
Built-in Electric Fireplaces
Built in electric fireplaces have a more elegant look because they are in line with the wall and do not stick out. The back of the fireplace can often be visible on a wall mounted fireplace, but on a built-in fireplace, the back will be hidden in the wall. The built in electric fireplace looks like a modern gas fireplace.
The installation of a built-in electric fireplace is more complex since there can be a construction in the wall. But, you do not have to think about a chimney and exhaust. Those are only required for wood stoves and gas fires. As an electric fire does not need those, only a hole in the wall is necessary. If you use an existing hole, the size should thus be adjusted to the fireplace.
It will require a few carpenter properties to build this construction. But a lot of our customers can do it by themselves since there are no further qualifications needed.
This LED fireplace insert is often used as an insert in an existing fireplace. It could be to replace a wood stove or a gas fireplace that is no longer desired. Especially at this time, where there are discussions about making the wood stove illegal.
There are different stylish electric fireplaces. There are 2 types, where the first one looks like a classic built-in fireplace and the other one has some decoration tree.
