Gas Patio Heaters
This type is very popular because it has a high heat output. It is thus effective and is, among other things, often seen in the restaurant industry. There are both models on bottled gas or a direct connection for their gas supply.
The vast majority of models are powered by bottled gas. This is because it can be difficult to install a gas supply to the patio heater itself. In addition, gas heaters on bottled gas are more flexible and can easily be moved around the terrace or café, for example.
A patio heater on gas pollutes more than the electric ones, they are typically relatively large in design and can be demanding in terms of safety. They must not be used for indoor use. On the other hand, they create a lot of warmth and can in many cases provide a beautiful flame, which even contributes to the cosiness in the dark hours.
Consumption is approx. 0.5 kg per hour. This means that the price is approx. 1 GBP per hour.

Electric Patio Heaters
The electric patio heaters are the most common. This is due to several reasons. They are, among other things, easily accessible in terms of price, flexibility and consumption.
In addition, an electric heat source also pollutes less than one that is powered by gas. An electric patio heater is flexible in that they simply need to be plugged into an electrical outlet. This means that you can easily move the device around.
The price will typically be 0,20 - 0,50 GBP per hour when the appliances are in use on the terrace.

Infrared Heaters
The classic model in the field of electric heaters for installation on the terrace. They are often seen installed because they are affordable and do not require any installation work. They can most often be installed by private individuals. However, this only applies if the power is below 3000 watts. When installing a stronger heater an electrician is needed.
The models are known to be more energy efficient than the gas heaters. This is because they utilize the energy much better and the heat does not blow away with the wind. They thus heat only what they hit - that is, us around the patio heater. That is why they have the high energy utilization. Therefore there is minimal waste and over-consumption.
Consumption can easily be calculated by multiplying the power in your patio heater by the price per 1kW on your local electricity bill. For example, let's assume that the kW price of your electricity supply is 0,26 GBP. In that case, the price will be GBP 0,39 per hour (0.26 x 1.5) with a standard heater with 1500 watts.
Halogen Heaters
Electric heaters with halogen bulbs must be considered to be one of the cheapest on the market. They are cheap to buy and at the same time they are also relatively energy efficient. The product, like other patio heaters, is ideal for extending summer evenings - either as a temporary or permanent solution on a patio, conservatory, vineyard or something completely different. They can be used for both indoor and outdoor use.
In addition to heating, a halogen heater also uses energy to form a white light. Therefore, it is only approximately as effective as the infrared models. Halogen models have been widespread for many years, but more and more manufacturers are trying even more energy-friendly solutions.
Heating Panels without Glare
The latest models in electric patio heaters are typically found in this category. Design magazines and the modern interior design consultants often make use of these stylish heating panels in their decor. The product is not necessarily the most heat efficient, but the design is top notch. You avoid a glare from the tube, which is characterized by the classic electric heaters.
In terms of price, these heating panels are significantly above the other electric patio heaters. They are also characterized as blacklight warmer. This is because they do not form any light and are quite discreet in their fading.
