Can a bio fireplace be used as a supplementary heat source?
This page is all about why you should consider using a bio fireplace as a supplement to your existing heating system.
Due to inflation and rising energy prices alternative ways of heating your home may be necessary to look into. Bio fireplaces can be used as a supplement to heat a room relatively cheaply and in an eco-friendly manner.
Bioethanol is produced from organic materials such as sugar beets, corn, and potatoes. You can read more about bioethanol here. Thus, a bio fireplace is not harmful to your health.
Does a bio fireplace provide heat?
Bio fireplaces are a great way to add cosines and warmth to your home. They create an inviting atmosphere and are great for entertainment and relaxing. However, there is one question we are often asked: Can a bio fireplace provide heat?
The short answer is yes. But let's elaborate a little further.
All bio fireplaces give off heat, as the flame is created by real fire. Typically, bio fireplaces have a heat output between 2-3 kW, which is half of what a traditional wood-burning stove provides.
Although it may be tempting to choose the bio fireplace with the highest heat output, it is important to consider the size of the room it will be placed. A bio fireplace doesn't require a chimney, flue or the like as it is the case with traditional fireplaces - instead they use the oxygen in the room to burn. Thus, it's important that the size of the fireplace isn't too big compared to the size of the room where you plan to use it.
The recommended room size is listed on all our products, but if you're still unsure about whether your room is big enough for your desired fireplace, feel free to contact us!
Is a bio fireplace easy to use?
There's a wide range of different bio fireplaces available on the market, so it can be difficult to know which one is the right one for you.
The two main categories are: Manual or remote controlled/automatic. Manual bio fireplaces are lit using a lighter, while automatic fireplaces are lit by pressing a button or using a remote control.
In addition, automatic bio fireplaces have some safety sensors that are not included in the manual ones.
This being said, both types of bio fireplaces are perfectly safe to use as long as they are used in a correct manner and in accordance with the instructions.
